A thin client solution removes the hassle of managing, updating and supporting the PCs in your organisation and is great for remote or mobile workers. With a thin client infrastructure, all of the processing, storage, management and security are done on the server. The user accesses the server via their computer, laptop or smart phone and the server does the rest.
The total cost of ownership with a thin client solutions is reduced, because centralising applications and storage allow your users as much or as little flexibility as their jobs require. Time wasted on software faults, user errors, illegitimate activity and mechanical failure are all reduced drastically. Thin client solutions add real return on investment, with increased life of that investment; this is due mainly to the fact that hardware and operating system upgrades are typically non-existent on the client. Application upgrades are simply done on the server, giving all thin clients immediate access to that upgrade, without the need for complex roll-out plans.
